The Northeast Texas Area Crime Stoppers Tip Hotline is answered by an outside Answering Service that specifically handles the taking of Crime Stoppers tip information. Once the information is received by the answering service, it is then transferred via TipSoft to the Crime Stoppers Coordinator and then he/she passes the information to the investigating officer. Calls are accepted regarding any publicized request for information, such as "Crime of the Week" or other felony crimes and wanted felons that the caller might have knowledge.

By guaranteeing a caller`s anonymity Crime Stoppers allows the caller to give information in a positive atmosphere without the prospect of retribution. By transferring our Hotline out of our service area, it further protects the identity of the callers and makes it COMPLETELY anonymous. By offering cash rewards for information leading to arrests, the program encourages otherwise reluctant callers to provide information.
